I’m Gemma, though most people call me Gem. I’m mum to three wonderful boys — Noah, Isaac and Jonah — wife to my lovely husband Mat, and Mumma to our two fur babies, Stanley and Holly. Alongside my love of making jewellery, I have a degree in archaeology, a love of travel, and an office full of musical instruments.

The first piece of jewellery I ever made was an elasticated bracelet for my mum when I was four or five years old. I added a tiny elephant charm because she loved elephants. Over 30 years later, I found that same little bracelet tucked away in her jewellery box. The elastic had perished, but the charms I had chosen and threaded by hand were still there, resting in their little decorated case. That moment reminded me why I have always loved making things with meaning — pieces that hold a story, a memory, or a little piece of someone’s heart.

After many years creating bridal jewellery and working with brides on pieces for their special day, lockdown gave me the time to reconnect my love of the outdoors and travel with my passion for jewellery. Wild and Gem began with forget-me-nots from my garden, carefully set into keepsake pieces, and has grown into collections inspired by my own encounters with the natural world, foraged flora, and treasures found along the shore.

I work in fine and sterling silver, creating each piece individually to capture special places, meaningful flowers, and fleeting moments outdoors. From cast shells to organic forms and nature-led details, every design carries its own story and sense of connection.
